Philosophy:
We believe children have a natural curiosity to explore the world around them. We will incorporate nature as a part of our curriculum in the areas of development, which includes cognitive, social emotional, language, and physical. We will focus our curriculum on the needs of the children to make sure they are ready to succeed as they transition into kindergarten.
We believe a parent is the child's first and most important teacher. We will build a relationship between home, school, and the community. We will encourage the children to respect and appreciate the diversity in others, solve problems, and learn to think for themselves.
We believe having an exciting and inviting environment will inspire community members to contribute to the success of our program. We will invite children, families, and community members to participate in program activities.
Mission Statement:
We will incorporate nature in our curriculum by introducing nature in our lesson plans and classrooms. We will take nature walks all four of the seasons, discussing the plants, animals and environment. We will have a nature walk beside the property going back 1,200 feet. We will make a garden in the spring and encourage the children, families, and the community to take part in caring and harvesting the garden to take home, with them.
We will encourage the children to respect the diversity in others by having multicultural clothes in the dramatic play area. We will have ethnic dolls in the housekeeping area, and people figurines with disabilities in the block area.
We will teach the children in all areas of development so they are prepared to be successful in kindergarten.
Vision Statement:
Our vision for Natural Wonder's Preschool Inc. is to help the children be better prepared for kindergarten and at the same time learn to respect and care for people, animals and the community. The children are our future and with our help they will make our community a better place to live. The Natural Wonder's vision is to be a part in helping them succeed.
